For my fabulous fortysomething friend

One of my closest friends turned 40 today. (Because of the time change he got to celebrate his big day for 25 hours.) I said 'Happy Birthday', but I didn’t wait a second more to notify him that he's no longer allowed to read my thirtysomething blog. It's a big birthday for him, and he couldn't have asked for a better gift than that… right? All my loyal readers (all two of them) better be saying 'wrong' and keep reading – that was a trick question! Enough blabbing (er, blogging). Happy Birthday, T, and thanks for a decade of unwavering friendship!

Turning 40 is great. As they say, 40 is the new 30 these days.

Bobs,
Is 34 the new 24?

Bobby, is saying that your "friend" turned 40 akin to me assuring the pharmacist that I'm buying these condoms for a "friend"? You needn't be ashamed of changing your site to chitownfortysomething; we'll still love you.

Don't fret. Forty-year olds are totally HOTT. I can hardly *wait* to turn 40 myself, just like your "friend" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). I hear we--I mean, *they*--make much better lovers than those thirtysomethings everyone makes such a fuss over. All I can say is that when I finally reach the big 4-0, ladies, form a line, and please, no pushing.
